With constant use of the centre stand, the resistance is now very low. For example a sparrow could land on the handle bars which would cause the bike to rock off and go for a roll..
How do you tighted the centre stand, had a quick look but the bolt just spinns, so i assume that the bolt through a hole which is pinned?? is it a new bolt jobbo???

Skint,
The back of the mounting block is round with two parallel flat sides taken off. This should mate into the the bracket on the bike. Try pushing the mounting from the back as you tighten the bolt at the front and hopefully it should push back into the seat, to allow you to tighten the bolt.
I've actually had the bolt shear on my centre stand, so check that out too. The replacement spindle and bolt should cost around £10 from your local BMW dealer, if worst comes to worst.
Good luck

You really need only two tools: WD-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the tape.
