Staintune exhaust and Ilmberger Hugger - advice please.

Postby Red Fokker » Thu Apr 24, 2008 2:05 pm

I'm about to fit an Ilmberger hugger which I've eventually got round to buying for my bike. My bike has the sport package fitted plus staintune exhausts fitted (two pipes running up from behind the wheel). There doesn't appear to be a great amount of clearance between the hugger and the exhaust close to the pivot of the shaft/swinging arm - maybe an inch or so. Do I need to modify the hugger with a dremel - or am I being over cautious? Anyone else got this set up or similar fitted?

You just cut a piece out - it'll be fine, it's what everyone else has done.

I have this same set up - It's actually Archie's old Stainetune 'zaust - which fitted without any problems or cuts.

It's run fine for a couple of years with no issues.......keep the dremmel in reserve.

Thanks lads - going off your experience Soggy, I'll fit it and see what happens - can't say I was too eager to start grinding away at the expensive carbon fibre!

I had a Staintune and Ilmberger hugger with no problems so think you'll be OK.

Cheers

has anyone else noticed their ilmberger hugger getting marked from the clamp bolt that holds the cans onto the mid-pipe? (No luggage, no passenger, not that fat)
'Hinterachsge' translates as 'rear axle'.(Not 'Differential', so f*** off)
