the bike is hesitant, seems to 'hold back' when you want to give it some beans.
I have changed the fuel filter, spark plugs, plug leads and coil pack.
It ticks over fine and revs freely at standstill in neutral.
Any ideas what it might be??

thanks for the replies.
I shall check out the air box. A new air filter was fitted less than 500 miles ago.
I will also check the valsve clearances.
All plugs/coil/plugleads have been swopped with my other s that works and this made no differance.
I shall push on and see what happens.
The only other issue is the clutch that was slipping, now does not. I am assuming this is because I can not get sufficient power to it, to make it slip. OR, might thew clutch have reached a new stage of impending doom and be causing the hesitancy?
U have a new clutch ready to go on on wednesday.

well, i thought i'd solved it. I removed the air box drain plugs on both side and loads of water came out. perhaps half a pint in total. I was convinced this must have been the problem but having ridden to work this morning the bike is still the same.
My question,
with that much water mixed with a bit of oil in the air box will it have soaked the airfilter maiking it not be able to breath properly? I shall have a look when i get back from work today and see what it looks like.
again with that much water might some have got into the engine/ spark plug area causing issues??

Early R1100S? Could be failing coil, it will cough and splutter at 4k + revs. K&N + Y piece installed? - could be running lean. - hesitancy at 4K + revs. Water in airbox once drained will not be a problem. A cupful is a lot though! Clutch slip is clear, motor revs but no power to the wheel, no hesitancy just revving motor. Otherwise an electrical fault, faulty connector or chafing wire.

i think the hall sensor cause the bike to cut out when its hot. The bike keeps going hot or cold.
I have three days this week in which i had planned to change the clutch. I think i shall also strip down fuel tank ( again ) and clean all bits and bobs.

the big brass screws on the throttle bodies. can they get blocked and not allow sufficient air through?

Are the throttle cables properly seated above the throttle bodies? The brass screws are tapered and control air supply. They do get sooted and benefit from a clean, but unlikely to cause a cut out, just lumpy low speed and vibes. At WOT they have minimal effect. The list of checks for you is almost endless. Electrical connector plug to the fuel pump o.k.? Fuel lines good? Tank breather hose clear?
