Need a Wheel respoke company or help?

Postby Lars1974 » Wed Mar 26, 2008 8:17 am

Hi guys,

as you may know i am in the progress of restoring my old R75/6 and such would like the get both wheels re-spoked as the spokes are too rusty and dont look good.
Does anyone in the forum know a company / someone who can offer this service?

Any ideas are most welcome.
thx Lars

Hi Lars.

Type in google 'Devon Rim company' and you'll see some great BMW wheels. :D

thanks guys for your quick responses...
As I had my S MOT'd today i asked the local tester if he knew someone locally who could do it for me...there is a company in Reading "Smiths Whitely Wood" who are doing re-spoking so i will give them a try too...but you suggestions are great....
i will keep you posted who i am going with..

the R75 deserves this work...and it will make a huge difference in appearance...
thx Lars

There is a fantastic guy at Cowfold in Sussex who does a lot of classics and customs. Built a stainless rim and spokes onto a Harley hub for me.

On the A272 opposite the green ( A23 side of the A281) down a little lane in a lock up!

He hand pollishes each spoke before he builds. Workshop like going back 60 years.

Very highly recomended

Ok, they are wheelwise Engeineering on 01403 864533, I had a Devon rim about £100 and it cost another £100 for the spokes and the build onto my hub. The rim has been excelent, put stainless on the backk as hard to get at and clean, and did not want rust, objective acheived, 7 years old and no problems.
It was some time a go so give them a ring. A lot of custom Harley builders use them, so check the lead in time

If you Google it, although they do not have their own site the name comes up with a map.

good luck
