I had the famous servo brake fail this afternoon. Red lights on the dash and servo cutting in and out randomly.
When I got home I thought I'd run through the start up again on my drive then welly on the brakes as they now seemed ok again.
Anyhow, to cut the story, I ran into the back of my other bike knocking it off the stand, luckily the side stand was down too to save it going over. I now understand what they mean by "Residual"!!!
This is the important bit; Eventually I traced fault to the front ABS sensor cable. A twig had been flicked up between cable and the disk, the bobbins had then chewed through the now moved cable. Every time the bare wire touched a bobbin nut the servo computer went awol.
This could easily have been a freak fatality, keep an eye on your sensor wire if you have an IBS braked version. Go check it now!!!
