Ever wondered the internals of a fuel pump?

Got a technical query? Found another 0.02bhp? Ask/tell the world.

Well this is an R1100S one, and possibly covers all the over R1100x series

Turns out mine at 52k miles had eaten it's brushes:

So, does that mean they are designed to wear out within 50k miles, or was mine shite :? not impressed with BMW quality, it's a myth!

I thought that it would have been an induction motor.

You're lucky it ain't a Honda one from a carb bike. Most go at 25K miles!
Honda VFR750 FV 1997 Red and dirty, 130K miles.

Honda VFR800 Xf Crossrunner 2016 White and dirty, 120K miles.
