That's the most sensible mounting option if it will fit, and the way I've been looking at. The first rule of turbocharging bikes - mount the unit as high as you possibly can.
That "rule" is only relevant with regard to oil return - which IS fairly critical. The idea is to bring the return [ under gravity ] above the oil level in the sump.
You can achieve exactly that using a scavenge pump if the turbo is placed lower due to packaging constraints. As the turbo is effectively a pump - it doesn't care where it is spacially.
We've looked at two options - the one shown on the Blue bike, and the space under the gearbox. Both locations have their pro's and cons. Now we have the turbo unit on the bench, we can have a good look at what's what this weekend. Either location allows us to have a decent size intercooler. Early days yet.

It is indeed critical. If you introduce oil mist to the intake you increase the risk of detonation significantly.
My current bike utilises a mechanical scavenge pump that I made myself and is driven off the crank. The turbo is physically too big to get high enough above the oil level to drain effectively.

I was looking for a new exhaust system and came across this site that also does a Turbo kit for the R11S I hope this is the sort of info you are looking for.

Thanks for the welcome. Even if the company don't want customers, at least the pictures will provide some "guidance " to help in the location of the various components. I have some photos / posters somewhere of turbo'd boxers. But they may be airheads. When I find them I will put them up, if I think they may provide some historical or technical merit.

They did produce an ace kit for the Flying Bricks, but was super expensive.
Although they listed a kit for the Oilheads - I have NEVER seen a picture of one installed !!
Thanx for the headsup though - any info at this point is welcome, as I see no point in completely re-inventing the wheel.
