On turning the key to the ignition on position (idiot lights on) I normally get a buzzing noise from the engine for a couple of seconds. I assume this is the fuel pump priming the FI or some such. The last couple of days this has been sticking on, even when the motor has started I can still hear the noise. I've had to turn the ignition off and on a coupla times to get it to resume normal.
Anyone else had this? Is it bad and if so is there a fix?
Or am I on the cusp of an expensive breakdown? Sob! I was going to order a Zach y-piece on Monday!
TIA

its still doing it.
Dunno - I presume it's still running OK? My fuel pump is very noisy when running, much like the noise at startup - the less fuel in the tank the noisier it gets due to the empty tank acting like an echo chamber - bitch job to change IMO cos it's inside the tank. If it ain't broke, I'd be inclined to leave it and monitor it. I've got a spare pump if you want to swap it and see if it makes any difference

Yeah it seems to run ok, i rode it for a bit whilst it was making the noise today and there were no adverse affects. I'll leave it til it goes bang, which is my usual take on maintenance anyway.
Thanks for advice.
