Seen this on ebay, are they any good? By good I mean more comfy than standard? I find mine very hard (oohhh errr misses) I tried a gel pad seat and it seemed comfy. Just wondered how this compares and if its a good buy.

Boxertools had one for sale a while back and I think it's still available - send him a PM.

Please be aware that the S seat has two varieties.
99-2000 have cups set a lot narrower at the front of the seat base than later models 2001+ I think it was another subtle change when the brakes changed from Brembo to BMW badged items.

Hi all.

May be interested in the seat, mine is a 1999 model, will it fit that? Do you know what model seat it is (lowered or standard) Is it anymore comfythan a stock one? Do you have any picturres? So many questions I know......... My email is sholland@tandbergtv.com

Jason, not been around for a while, sold my house in Fair Oak and new one not ready to move into yet. Bikes are in storage and I am in Korea. Hopefully all be in the same place early next month.......

I'm not sure if you are right Lloyd, as I transfered a seat from my 99 to my 51 without a problem.

A/C not sure if is low or not, didn,t get much of a chance to use it on a long trip, but I cant say it was much better than my gel padded seat.
I will say though that I always seem to have a problem with seat comfort, and have yet to find a seat or bike that is really comfy. Maybe time for a pan eh Lloyd?

Can you still use the standard seat cowl with it? Do you have any pictures. Oh and I guess also, what colour is it?

Just going from the difficulties I had when changing to single seat that needed adapters to make the Ilmberger fit. Perhaps the Germans got it wrong in the first place??

Lloyd - you just knew I'd join in this - didn't you? Tell them about the quality of the adapters!!
......as I transfered a seat from my 99 to my 51 without a problem.

A seat from a 99 will go on to a 51, but the rubber 'bungs' will only just make contact with the locator slots on the seat, thereby making the location of the seat a bit of a hit-and-miss affair.

You will not get a 51 seat onto a 99 without getting rid of a large part of the spigots sticking out of the rear subframe.
Perhaps the Germans got it wrong in the first place??

Pardon?
