I've checked the voltage coming off the battery and it's 12.39v. No relays click or fuel pump primes when switched on. The small circlip that holds the side stand switch onto the side stand pivot had come off but the switch and washer hadn't, but were just loose. I've removed it all and put it back together and inspected and wiggled the wires in the main loom, but she's still dead. ;-(

I'm afraid that's the extent of my mechanical abilities!!! It's definitely a trip in the van next week into Bromley to see my mechanic.

All fixed. Turns out to have been the ignition switch. Although it did confuse the mechanic as he said when he put his volt meter thingey across it it showed it was OK but obviously wasn't. He put a new switch in and replaced part of the surrounding loom.

Thanks for your advice, excellent as ever.

I did try the wiggle test but it was the actual switch that was causing the problem.

I had pretty much the same problem.

Check the wiring along the left hand electrics box under the fairing. All looked well.

I ended up chasing circuits with a multi meter and found the naughty wire. It had been rubbing on the corner of the box and had corroded internally casing the break in the circuit.

I had lights and other bits but no fuel pump etc...
