Has anyone found a match for the icing-sugar based paint that BMW use to change the colour of the cheese castings to silver?
My bike had never been used in the wet when I bought it yet the stuff still managed to start going crusty, so I reckon it's time to start keeping it tidy.
Any suggestions welcome!!!
Cheers
Alan

I found that some of the engine paint was peeling where the inlet rubber connects to the cylinder head. My local BMW dealer did not keep any paint but sent me to the local car accessorie dealer to buy some 'SIMONIZ 5 WHEEL SILVER' paint. This seems to be a perfect match, but you have to use primer & put several coats on, as the original paint is quite thick.

What is it with the paint on these things? I have had two K100RTs (1985 and 87 vintage) Both neglegted to the point of it being criminal. After a quick wash and brush up they looked showroom again! My S has 7k on the clocks, I am careful with it yet still its engine and fork paint is looking very sad in places.
Sigh... They dont make em like they used to!!!!!!
