Three days after Pearl Harbour the Empire of Japan attacked Malay and Siam. Two battleships of the Royal Navy tried to intervene.
HMS Repulse and HMS Prince of Wales were lost.
The wrecks are very deep, and very difficult to get good photos as there's not much light below 50m and strobes tend to eliminate the background.
We visited last year, and dived respectfully as permitted these solemn wargraves.
These are the 15" guns of B turret.
This is one of the 5 torpedo holes.
We paid our respects to the crew.
On 9 April 1942, a further attempt was made to stop Japan, by HMS Hermes.
She sailed from Trincomale towards Burma.
She is rarely dived, hard to get to and very deep. We visited in 2013.
Starboard propeller.
Conning tower.
Lookout platform.
