dvd through the post

Postby harry3014 » Fri May 23, 2008 8:57 pm

Today in the post i received Great Rides Great Roads DVD, its a instructional film of sorts, and has tips on riding skills etc, i have no idea who sent it nor why. its not from bennetts my insurance company either as usually they plaster their logo on everything.
It has in one section some of the recent tv adverts, (car hits bike type)
so i rang a mate and he got one too yesterday.

Any ideas? or did anyone else get one? as a point i have been riding 21yrs so its not that i have recently applied for anything, strange.

I received one last week as well. When I put it in the computer, it said it was an already played disk, which was really strange.

It has some good stuff on it, but is also amazingly patronizing in places.

What it doesn't have is very much at all about great rides! Very misleading title.

It comes from the DVLA I think, and I assumed it was something to do with taxing the bike.

I've got one too. In fact I've had one before. I thought that I got it as a result of having done an advanced riding scheme last year.

Maybe it's just a local(ish) trawl through the DVLA records; the list of sponsors include road safety teams for the North East, North and West Yorkshire and Humberside.
