Now I know this is going to probably attract a few derisive comments but here goes. After finally deciding I am keeping the bike does anyone know of or can recommend a supplier of bike trailers. The reasoning behind this is I usually make four or five trips a year down to my caravan in the South West and unfortunately my other half has no interest in bikes but has no objections to me dissapearing for the odd half day while down there so I might as well take the bike and enjoy some of the great roads.
Any advice much appreciated and all comments about trailering the bike will be taken in good spirit.

Are you talking something to put the bike onto,or something to tow behind it?!!!

there's quite a few on the market, new and S/H on ebay..

you might want to consider one which folds smaller to make storage easier (my two bike trackday trailer is currently bungeed upright against a wall!)

also think about getting one with the frame that holds the front wheel as it will make getting the thing on and off a lot easier before ratchetting it up. Its also a lot easier to have the trailer attached to the car before attempting loading/unloading...

towing is a piece of cake (theres little load so you don't need a braked trailer).. just don't forget its attached..

you'll also want a handlebar strap thingy... can't remember the proper name (available from all freebie catalogues in MCN!) to fix the front. I just strap the rear down over the seat on top of a folded car footwell mat..

am assuming that this is what you meant - don't think they make trailers to tow behind bikes big enough for spouses, although I did see one in Ride once with a pooch in it with a perspex cockpit bubble.

I came across an ad in the back of Classic Bike magazine the other day whilst in the hairdressers for trailers that collapse and can fit into the back of a car. May not be the ideal thing for you for now but it must make storage somewhat easier. Don't remember the name but the WHS library may be able to turn it up if you can't Google it.

Just be carefull when buying a single bike trailer,check on the wieght capacity alot of e'm won't carry a road bike only motocrossers and Enduro bikes.

I have towed the caravan for a number of years before deciding to leave it down Somerset so I have no worries about towing.I had already noticed most trailers seem to be designed for off road bikes which was why I decided to post the question and see what collective wisdom everybody could come up with,anyway any further suggestions or comments much appreciated

Why not just ride the bike there? Than at least you get the fun of the journey, instead of the earbashing from the wife ("You're driving too fast.... watch out for that cow.... oh! I've forgotten.... lets put that Bryan Adams CD on...." AAARRRGGGHHH!!!)
