Pushbikes yes Motorbikes no way.
I have been to a couple of anonymous testing and evaluation days and electric motor bikes are unreal.
I had to compare an SV650 first on a small test track and give an opinion.
then I rode an electric concept bike.
I was only allowed to ride the electric bike in low power mode, It spanked the SV650 it was unreal just twist and go and what was really eary was the silence literally just twist and go.
On the timed second lap I rode the electric bike 30% faster than the SV650 .
Expected range of 65 miles in low power mode
Howe ever that would mean a charge twice a week for my current commute

Yep, they are, like it or not the future. One day they will have the power you mention and the range and be much lighter.

Almost certainly true.
And that fact makes each ride I get to have on my reciprocating engine powered, clutched, involute gear toothed contraptions all the sweeter.
Electric bikes and small (3 wheeled) cars make a lot of sense for city work.
