How Much????
I know the hot subject of the moment (again) is the price of fuel, and to he honest if i'm filling the car ill not so much shop around but drive till I see a price that's not too high, usually a supermarket. With the bike I don't bother because of the amount that goes in
Hopped on the bike yesterday. Petrol light on, 147 miles on the trip, first stop local station. Didnt even look at the price.
That'll be £20.27 sir.
Robbing bas***ds!!! £1.40/l.
Lesson learned. It will be Morrisons sludge for me from now!!

For every £30 paid at the pump, around £18 is paid straight to the Exchequer, with only the remaining £12 covering the cost of the fuel - including just £1 to the retailer.
This is making the news just now as the local/independant stations are struggling to survive, they cannot compete with the bulk buying power of the Supermarkets. Watched the news last night and the reporter stated some Supermarkets sell petrol for little or no profit.
Don't forget, approximately 60% of the cost of every litre sold goes directly into the government coffers.

As someone pointed out on another forum:
Of the £1 paid to the retailer - the taxman takes a chunk out of that too.
Of the £12 paid to the Producer/distributor - the taxman takes a chunk out of that too..........
But - the good old BBC always lead with "exploitation by Oil Multinationals......"

Even better - at least one supermarket has been caught putting filtered tap water in bottles and selling it as their economy brand table water!
Fucked Off!

Listen, petrol's cheap when compared to the price of a pint. £20.00-£26.00(+) for a gallon of ale that's brewed (literaly) just across the street How's that happen then I mean it's not as tho my pint of 'Aunty Murtle' has come all the way from the middle east and been 'won' at the cost of the lives of 18yo kids is it.

Mr. Spock is my role model so be advised; I possess no (discernible) sense of humour.
It's all VFR (DCT) round here now. STILL missing my 1100s tho.
