Short update.
I did survive the Eastern Europe Rally (may 2012). You can read a full report over here:

I did receive my company ride:
... yeah I know: looks like a big scooter...
Sold both my Yamaha's and went for a KTM 690 Enduro for the occasional mud-wresling:
Now... for 2013...
I wish all the best to you lot!

I just scrolled quickly throught he rally report , what actually happened to the guy who had to leave his quad behind...
You did well to survive what you did on your "road bike".
That's a tall looking screen on your RT

This guy was riding together with his son in law, both on a CanAm Renegade:
Quite an impressive piece of equipment: unlinked suspension all around, 4WD a.s.o.
In an earlier attempt to conquer that ski-slope (up-hill ofcourse...) he lost grip and the quad tumbled down... but not too much damage was done. Being not the quitter-type of guy he went for another go... again he lost grip and control and this time the quad tumled down way down the slope, doing multiple flip-overs and ended up as a total loss... He wasn't hurt, so that's the good news.
They made several attempts to recover the vehicle ... but had to leave it there. Heard they managed to get it off the mountain later that week. By then the owner, and his son in law, had already taken the first flight out... leaving his Audi A8 to be driven back to holland by one of the guys of the rally support team... who had a blast down the German autobahn.
It's just one those men that run a business and allow themselves an 'outing' every now and then... and if you loose a quad, worth 18.000 euro, ... you just get back to business as usual!
