When I as living in the UK earning lots of money, I would think nothing of buying 2 or 3 new bikes in a year, but now I want a bike that lasts and the S is perfect for me.

Mr Ash has clearly opened a can of worms here, and will no doubt have tweaked a few nerves aswell. Trouble is, for much of what he says, I cannot disagree as he's just pointed out a number of issues which we, as BMW (current and ex) owners are well aware of.

I also feel he's vindicated a lot of what the new S's nay-sayers said when the bike was first shown; it ain't sporty enough for the Ducati/Aprilia crowd yet it doesn't push the right buttons for those who loved the older bike.

The mags need to run one of those 'old v new' tests. That could prove interesting, in the same way as the Fazer comparos did.
