Didnt think they had au Underground Railway under Pudsey

Postby PBBoxer » Wed Feb 27, 2008 2:01 am

Sat there early hours today, working in a Data Centre in Pudsey.
Heard a train rumbling through and a bit of vibration.
Thought nothing of it until about 40 mins later when I was leaving site and the poor Security Guard was gabbling on about an Earthquake.

"oh right, thats what is was"... I just didnt twig at all

Anyone else feel it?

Apparently quite a big one, epicentre in Hull, I've also heard Lincoln.

Slept right through it, didn't feel a thing.

Yep, just winding up for the night after working on SWMBOs car. Hot choccie on the sofa when it felt initially like the dog getting up from behind the chair and bumping against it. Unfortunately we had said doggie put to sleep 11 days ago. :crybaby:

Then it felt a bit like riding a train over points or a crossing, actually getting a bit rocky and more like a thumping in the back but feeling it through my feet too.

Given that we must be the best part of 100 crow miles away that's some going.

Felt it in Teddington (West London) - doors were rattling and woke me up ... laying there for 10 seconds or so thinking what is that odd vibration. Thought someone had started the Boxer up

Wife woke me up and the bed was shaking - then i realised there was no associated pleasurable feeling.
Told her it was just an earthquake and she went back to sleep.

I woke up at 1am to hear the wardrobe and chest rattling. Gave Hannah a kick and told her to pack in shaking the bed.

She said 'don't be stupid, how could I be doing all that shaking - it's an earthquake!' Trust her to be all rational at 1am in the morning unlike me.

Must have been strong though as I can sleep through my girls crying out for a wee during the night, so it takes something quite loud to wake me up :o
