What does BMW stand for?
I can only guess at "Brokendown by the Motor Way"
52,000 miles on the clock and it's turning into a right unreliable piece of shit. Have gone through the electrics and finally sussed that the fuel pump is shot. Initially thought it was the Motronics, but that gives the fuel pump an initial few seconds to get upto pressure and then turns off, till the engine starts and it then lets it power continuously.
Now waiting for CW's to get back to me with a price..........

My s has rolled over 60k miles and i'm hearing noises all the time (or is it voices ) Probably just paranoia and spending too much time on this forum, Hasn't let me down (yet) in the nearly 4 years i've owned it. Did however replace the pump as a precaution ( noise was audible even with earplugs)

Looks like who ever bought the tank of e-bay a week ago with all the bits inside got a bargain then, funny when i bought my spare tank 7 years ago,guy asked me if i wanted the pump for a tenner, said no (dohh) he took it out and through it in the bin!!!
I learned my lesson after that and have built up a decent stock of spares,i've bought them when they were cheap instead of when i needed them, still learning!!!missed a set of forks last week 127 quid!!!

Fuel filters are a service item, fuel pumps are not but will have to work harder if you don't change the filter
