Bent Bike??/

After a bit of advice from all you gurus.

I've been looking at an Aprilia RSV 1000 R , 2000 plate over the last week or so. Today i finally decided sod it i'll buy it. so being the careful person i am i rang for the reg, vin and engine number from the dealer.

Start to check it out on the internet to make sure it is legit. The bike comes back as plate not in the database. everyone company had a problem with it. the Vin number ties up to the correct model and year but thats all that provides and the engine number the same.

Called the dealer and he cant find the log book and recons the bike was on a private plate before and now its back on its original plate.

I've asked them to get the logbook and a hpi check for me before i'll even look at it.

just after your feelings on this. I've pretty much walked away from it but now i'm just doing it out of curiousity.

I'd give it a miss.

It seems dodgy, and in my experience, if things seem dodgy they are usually much worse.

If the dealer can't even locate the correct docs in an instant, then I'd not trust the dealer either.
