Bike Stolen
Moderators: Gromit, Paul, slparry
This has also happened over at londonbikers.com apparently. Arrange a rideout to the Ace as an example then get followed home. Poor sod over their lost two MVs in a fortnight.
Probably not even a registered member just some scumbag watching the boards.
If only we could fit a version of this as part of the immobiliser

Paul - absolutely gutted for you - I know how you feel as years ago I had a bike taken in similar circumstances as did Laura. Turned out to be someone we knew as you hinted at. This has been well posted on other bik forums - I found out about it on www.t595.net
Hopefully there will be plenty of people aware now of the theft and will report any sus cheap parts etc. Hopefully it will make it very difficult for them to dispose of it.
Also I will PM you now.

Paul,
Sorry to hear about your bike. If it had just been delivered from the dealers, it probably wouldn't be so bad (apart from insurance) - but when you put so much into personalising it ......... I can understand your position.
I fancy fitting one of these, but am scared that I forget about it........
Alarm trip mine

The police would probably be able to trace the f*ckers from the dna of their sh1t

Me-109 wrote:My personal experience of bike thefts and attitude towards any other stolen bikes/cars I've seen is that I wouldn't want it back. I've no idea what the toerags have done to it, so I don't want to take the chance.
I have to agree with Me-109 here. I bought a second hand Audi TT last year, which is a high risk vehicle for theft. When I went through the paperwork that came with it I realised that the original owner had had it fitted with a Tracker. I made enquiries about having it reactivated and it was going to cost about £120 per year. Then I thought "am I really going to want my TT back if some sh***y arse little f***pig has been tearing around thrashing and generally mistreating it....NO".
Instead I spent the money on GAP insurance which means that if at any time in the next three years it is written off through accident damage or theft I get the full purchase price back and not just the current valuation.
Not sure if this is available for bikes but it seems a good idea.
Sorry to hear about your bike PB.

Just had a phonecall from a guy on another forum i go on, called flying-sparks
He met a fella at Lemans with a Black 12s, which he now thinks is identical to mine, black wheels, covers etc.
The guy is from YORKSHIRE but apparently living in France, approc 6 hrs from Lemans.
He told this guy off flying sparks that he ordered the bike from BMW with black wheels. Is that possible in Europe? I tried and they said they couldnt do it.
Aftr all this info, he tells me he didnt get the reg number, didnt take a photo of bike or guy etc tec.

Do you know where in France this guy lives? I assume that the bike is still on UK plates as French registration would require a UK logbook, bill of sale and a Certificate of Conformity from BMW UK. Perhaps it might be worth asking BMW UK if anyone had asked for a C of C for your chassis number.
With a picture or two and a little more information, I could publicise this on some of the French bike forums. Might lead to nothing, but could be worth a try.

NO, apparently its on french plates and its a Yorkshireman, now apparently moving or moved to france, approx 6 hrs south of lemans.
Cant believe this guy talked to him and didnt take the number or a picture or anything. He feels badly about it himself, but it really does sound too much of a coincidence, especially as teh guy has only had teh bike a short time and informed him he got the black wheels direct with teh bike from bmw dealer.
Whata wounder
Having a stunner of a night. Just been called by our "friend" in Laxey who runs Laxey campsite, to be told he forgot to book our 2 large pitches and we now have absolutely nowhere to stay for TT. May as well cancel the ferry tickets
