Recall

Postby winny2 » Thu Nov 30, 2006 10:05 am

No not Arnie but BMW. Letter just dropped through the box from Jeff Lynn (liked his out of the blue album) BMW Customer Information Service Manager issuing a safety recall for my bike. Bearing in mind it is now 8.5 years old and no problems yet this seems unlikely.

Any of you dealer chappies out there know what it's all about?

OK, just rang local dealer who told me it's for a new, later type of fuel hose to be fitted and for the ball head on the brake level to be secured.

Is that brake lever John?

(Spoke to S London BMW. They've had lots of calls about these letters this a.m. - they didn't know what it was for yet. But from what you say it doesn't sound like an urgent one)

Yes Andy...brake lever.

Not really sure which bit that they're referring to. Would agree, does not sound urgent...

Hi Dave, suspect it's only the oldest models but not sure. Nice to see another northerner join the party. See you on a run sometime. I usually get across to Huddersfield quite a lot even though I dont visit Motorworks any more.

Hi John,

I used to live in Hedon a few years ago, while working for BP on a contract. Maybe catch you on a run sometime, or let me know if you get up here and we could meet.

Cheers
