I spy with my little eye....
Speedmachine in Thirsk, Sunday afternoon? Black S outside (closed) moto dealers.....went past two-up on mandarin S heading to Helmsley if that was you. Wife said rider looked as we went past. Only saw the S as I passed by because of the cars or I may have stopped for a chinwag.

You're right, it was me. Just stop for 10 minutes
been to Squires, coffee bar, then to infinity at York.
A quick stop at Thirsk.
Thought about going to Helmsley was not too sure about the weather
but I did 140 miles without getting wet.
Will have to meet up and discuss r1100s. And
Sort some rides out me-109

My favourite roads happen to be the ones down to York, particularly the Helmsley bit downover (B1363, Oswaldkirk, Sutton-on-the-Forest) and across to Gunnerside and into Hawes that way.
Those and the B6277/A689 circular over to Alston.
Family stuff reduces time available but happy to ride in company if there's something going. I'll pm some contact details.
FYI my riding is restrained on fast A-roads/M-ways and turns a bit more 'banzai' (blitzkrieg?!) as it gets twistier. Fast but smooth with a good eye on safety. I don't cross solid whites or enter chevrons, won't stuff it up the inside of someone on the road (well, maybe only one guy I know real well) and try to obey urban limits. I'm alive with a clean license and aim to maintain both.

No problems for me with a GS joining in. I had an interesting ride back from Hawes last year with my mate on a Falco and me 2-up on a 1200 Bandit when we merged with a GS.
We were all travelling at a fair pace but 'riding responsibly' and I was amazed at the way that GS went round corners and dealt with the 'undulating' surface. It was obvious from the way the rider read the road and handled the bike that the trailie was not holding him back on that road, nor was he having to cane it to make progress. REspect for bike and rider.
Maybe we should start a 'Northern' meet? Maybe start with a meet up at Squires one night when the clocks change and the weather breaks a bit?
