Dear ,
During our ongoing product assessment and quality control it has been noted that there is the potential for a minor fault to develop relating to the fuel pump flange.
BMW Motorrad UK has been working closely with DVSA (Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency) to identify all owners and models involved. The motorcycle referred to above has been identified as one of those potentially affected. To establish this fact the motorcycle will require inspection by an authorised UK BMW Motorrad Dealership.
Affected motorcycles may exhibit small cracks on the fuel pump housing. In extremely rare cases slight leaks can occur, causing a smell of petrol resulting in the loss of a very small amount of fuel. This issue is not safety related, however as the part is related to the fuel system BMW Motorrad has taken action to inspect and modify, or replace affected components as necessary.
The necessary inspection and rectification work will take approximately 30 to 60 minutes to complete. At your convenience please contact your preferred BMW Motorrad Dealership to have this work carried out. There will be no charge for this work to be completed. Alternatively you may wish to wait until the next service or inspection is due.
Whilst this work is being carried out, the appointed BMW Motorrad Dealership will be pleased to undertake a complimentary 23 point vehicle health check for you.
In the meantime, please continue to use your motorcycle as normal with complete confidence.
Yours sincerely

Just had mine done, new flange bracket needed, I never did receive a recall letter so phoned Riders in Cardiff, yes it's awaiting the check up was the answer, booked in for the following Sat, only trouble is it's a 180 odd mile round trip, so a phone call to Riders Bridgwater (46 round trip), no problem sir you get the bike here and we shall transport it to Cardiff and bring it back. Now that's what I call good service, especially as I never bought the bike from them in the first place.
