One Less R1200ST - Replacement Purchased see update page two
Well the sad news for me is that the ST that I bought at the end of Sept last year is beyond repair. I was tee boned on Monday at 5.18pm leaving the Isle of Dogs. I went from going along to being on the ground to being in an ambulance to being in hospital. I have a gashed leg (glued) and torn back muscles. The bike has: 2 knackered head covers three damaged body panels at least one bent fork leg, exhaust can and a frame that is scrap. Estimated parts bill is £7k plus labour. Now waiting on a offer from Aviva and a claim against the car driver for injuries. Sorry no pictures but the frame is so bent that the end of the exhaust is now only 5 mm from the back tyre its usually a 45mm. Without the enormous cylinder head crashbungs my leg would have been toast.

There would appear to be a surfeit of prolixity and sesquipedalian content today please do not use a big word when a singularly un-loquacious and diminutive linguistic expression will satisfactorily accomplish the contemporary necessity

Damn, so many myopic feckers out there. Sorry to read about it. Heal fast mate.
From what I have read on several forums, expect Aviva to low ball you. Don't accept the first offer. Send them photos of the bike showing its excellent condition and the full service history.
Start looking for similar condition bikes for sale and save the adverts to counter their book price.
Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

I had a car stolen a few years ago, Direct Line were very quick with a silly offer, so we batted it back and forward until they asked for a copy of the current (at the time) issue of Auto Trader with three similar models for sale, they paid me the average price.
I ended up with more than the car is worth.
Mind you, it might not be so easy with the R1200ST.
Glad you're OK though.
