Yeah but the problem would be if its bad your bike would get recovered to a yard where you couldn't strip it of mods........

Or the police seize it (but if that happens you probably won't care as you will probably be dead  !)

The thing that I think is backwards is that most folk who mod their bike aren't the type who don't care about their bike and thus should be a lower risk..........

Had a policy renewal come through from antie Carol for Jan but forgot to renew (I thought I had but when I came to tax the bikes it seems I hadn't  )
As more than has elapsed since the insurance ended I am effectively 'new business' so quote included broker's fee.

First quote from CN came in at £480 !! (two bike policy, 8 years no claims, protected NCB, breakdown cover etc). And this with a £500 excess!!

Finally managed to beat them down to £430. Didin't have time to phone around and I do believe that CN is probably this best insurer out there........hopefully

I know the HP2 will push the premium up a bit but bloody hell!! they must have seen me coming.

And the worst thing is last year I did about 2000 miles which works out at 21.5p/mile just for insurance

Note to self, get organised before next year

DT

DT don't beat yourself up, my two bike policy with CN for the S and the MV was £320 with 1000 miles limit and £500 xs on each, but the premium doubled when I added the Diavel.

I spoke to three others and only got one to quote, the value of the bikes combined was too much for most underwriters.

I will follow Steve's lead and look at e bike next year.

If you do go to ebike and ever have cause to actually call them, which I've not ever had need to as yet .... fingers crossed .... as policy admin tasks can be done myself online..... don't use their premium rate number.

If you PM me I can send the standard rate landline number :)

If I recall correctly there's also free UK recovery with E Bike and 3 months european cover

She seems to have a big head and a small face!

I was with Carole Nash for 10 years. I was getting fed up with the annual, 'why has my insurance gone up by £100?' saga, only for them to match the best offer.

About 2 years ago when I told the CN rep that MCE were a lot cheaper than my CN renewal, the rep told me 'you had better go with them then' and refused to price match.

So here I am with MCE. £168 fully comp, UK breakdown (not Europe, though not a problem this year) for 15 months insurance, which means I have been able to move my renewal away from December and the expense of Xmas.

Insure both bike and car through Swinton, which both fall due around the same time, so tend to try and negotiate one against the other. I'm sure the bike bit is around £15 odd a month with £30 cash back due after 90 days, sometime in early August.
