K1200R, any Good?

I've had a K1200R Sport for two years now. It replaced my 1100S that I wrote off.
I ride it almost everyday right through the year and its always great fun.
I have the BMW warranty and its paid for itself(clutch basket, rear ESA shock and a few bits including wheel bearings) Not fussed that they went as have shiny new parts at minimal cost!
Low speed fuelling in town is a bit gravelly but I've got used to it and with the power it has I dont see the point in spending any money on upgrades as five minutes later you would forget you had them.
I am far from god-like in my riding and did find that the cornering wasn't quite as tight as the S's but its pretty decent in my opinion.
When I've worn out current tyre plan on going for PR3s with a 55 rear tyre. Flash who pops up here from time to time has the same bike and did this and said its transformed the handling through corners.
I've ridden the K13 too and yes its smoother and would love the quick shifter but when I realised I would have to trade in my bike and hand over 5K couldn't see the point.
Oh, I did add helibars as I found that with all the town riding I do I needed something to take the pressure off my wrists. Pre helibars country riding didn't cause a problem.
Would I recommend one- unreservedly whether it be naked or the sport and with a warranty.
I just don't get bored of riding it. On the fly its pretty swift and does seem to get round corners rather well. Brakes really do stop you too.
A common thread from twin owners is that all 4 cylinder bikes are very similar and lack character.
The K12v really does have its own character.
Give it a go

If god didn't want people to eat animals, why did he make them out of meat?

A couple of years ago I was lucky enough to test the R, S & GT models for BMW (K1300's) .. They were all amazing bikes but 'smiles per mile', I would have chosen the 'R' and worked hard on my neck muscles. An absolute joy to ride and obscenely powerful for a naked bike.... (So much fun that I accidentally found myself riding the Transfagarasen Highway) ... But .... given the choice of owning any previously enjoyed BMW, for all the wonderments and technical bling of the 'K' series, I'd still invest in the 'Heart & Soul' of another R1200/R1100S .. the grass isn't any greener on the other side of the BMW fence, it's just cut in a slightly different pattern
