Re: In todays money
Good find Fontana.
My starting salary as a Junior bank Clerk in 1974 was £875 P.A that's only £9712.50 in todays terms - no wonder I was always skint - our minimum salary where I am now is £18,820 i.e. twice as much in real terms.
My First proper bike was a 9 month old Honda CB200 (1974 model bought in May 1975) which cost £275 or £2634 today.
Today a New Suzuki VanVan 200 is about £3200 whist a Bergman 200 is over £4000. The market in second hand 200cc bikes is pretty much non existent now.

There would appear to be a surfeit of prolixity and sesquipedalian content today please do not use a big word when a singularly un-loquacious and diminutive linguistic expression will satisfactorily accomplish the contemporary necessity
