My phone got run over the other day.
Long story, but the screen is shattered.
It's an HTC android.
I bought a new phone compatible with my network, but my I have lost all my contacts.
I thought they would be on the SIM card, but it seems they are stored on the phone's memory.
I don't have the information backed up.
Is there any way at all I can retrieve them from the phone.
I've spent ages on line trying all sorts of downloads but nothing has worked.
Any help gratefully received
Any mobile phone boffins here ?

I would have thought it would be possible assuming the phone's turning on.
Have you tried ?

Sometimes software that lets you remote control the broken device helps, like
http://lifehacker.com/android-control-l ... 1594719124
however, it may not install now as it probably needs installing before a disaster
It may be simpler to ask a phone shop if they can do it as they may have software to perform the task, or even to replace the damaged screen cheaply?

Thanks and yes I have tried that one, but after you've installed it, it tells you that at the moment, it only works with Samsung devices.

Was getting quotes of around £250 to repair.
I didn't ask if they could retrieve the contacts as at the time, I assumed they were on the sim card.
I bought a phone for £30 so it was a no brainer.
