The Dengie 100 MCC (pronounced Den-gee) have just returned from another 4 day trip to ride in the Welsh countryside. Last year staying in Hereford but this year staying at the Premier Inn North Harmer Hill near Shrewsbury ( I know its not Wales but its close enough to Wales and a shorter ride there and back from Essex).
Friday 17th Leaving Maldon at 09:00 and heading for Baldock Services via Stansted, Puckeridge and Buntingford. - Coffee stop and fuel top up complete and longer stint across country driving trough the Deer Park at Woburn and skirting south of Milton Keynes we headed, via Ayno, for a MacDonalds at Alcester for a lunch stop. Then on to Shrewsbury our route avoids all the major towns like Stratford, Redditch, Bromsgrove and Kidderminster. Arrived at 16:15 after 212 miles from Maldon.
Saturday18th - A ride of about 190 miles taking in Machynlleth, Capel Bangor, Rhayader, Crossgates to Newtown (A peach of a road), Welshpool and back to the hotel. A quick day on which my bike computer said that I'd averaged 46.3mph for the day's ride
Sunday 19th 181 Miles. Out to Lake Bala via the B4397, B4396 and B4391. From Bala on the A4212 and B4392 to Festiniogg. Then on to Harlech and Barmouth (Lunch stop) Then back to Lake Bala for a ride around the lake then un-numbered single track lanes to Lake Vyrnwy (spectacular ride although some thought it a little challenging) More small roads to Welshpool a d then the A458 back to Shrewsbury.
Monday the return ride was a reverse of Fridays route. My total mileage for the four days being 805.

DHMCC Goes to Shrewsbury & Wales
There would appear to be a surfeit of prolixity and sesquipedalian content today please do not use a big word when a singularly un-loquacious and diminutive linguistic expression will satisfactorily accomplish the contemporary necessity
