Some Me Time
Was going to go to Wales today but reckoned it would all be under water, so used a lull in the weather to take the GS round the Cotswolds for the morning. Mostly back roads, from time to time popping up somewhere familar before ducking back into the undergrowth. Banbury / Charlbury / round the top of Burford - fast A & B roads ending up in single track. Picked up the great B4425 through Bibury, then followed the Coln towards Andoversford on C roads - absolutely drenched but spectacularly beautiful and some amazing bijou villages all the way through. Then picked up the old Salt Way pack route towards Winchcombe before picking up the B4081 & B4035 (fast) through Chipping Camden / Shipston on Stour and then lanes home. Roads vary from potholes to N Wales standard brand new surface, and from running water to bone dry. Lots of entertainment & variation, some fabulous views - must do more!
