Eyup everyone.

Just got an R1100S after owning an F650GS for 3 years. I'll miss the GS, especially the 70mpg is was getting out of it, but I'm sure the S will be rewarding in many other ways.

Off to post my first tech question.

Ah, one more for team Yorkshire.

Welcome Hoppers, where did you get your bike from?

Picked it up from Williams BMW in Madchester Tuesday morning.

It was nice and sunny in York, but wet as a wet thing across there. Missed the snow though on Saddleworth Moor.

I presume you found a better deal there than your local dealers.

Anyway, happy riding and see you on the road sometime. I live just outside Hornsea by the way.

Barrie Robson had one, but it was'nt in as good nick.

I would'nt have said I got a cracking deal at Madchester, but the bike is mint. The only thing that concerns me a little is that when its been sat on the SIDE stand it blows a bit of oil smoke on startup. The dealer says this is 'normal', Ill keep an eye on oil usage.

Hi Dave

Welcome to the site. That really is the best colour for an 1100s - I never had one but think it looks cracking.

I had a couple of F650GS back along - I don't miss them on little bit, slow unless you trashed it, terrible forks and suspension and really uncomfortable on long journeys - IMHO.

You'll love the S.

Welcome to the Yorkshire fold!

Eyup Andy

Am I correct in thinking you frequented the F650 forum?

Dave,

know what you mean pal.

i never thought for one minute i would own a 1100s.but once you've ridden one and experienced it then it becomes strangely addictive.

wouldn't swop mine, not right now anyway.love the bike to bits

get some photo's of it posted.from what i remember your bike is in fantastic condition.i take it is the one with the panniers on that was in the showroom.

 I did! Well spotted. Did we ever meet?

I was very active on it from when I first started riding in '03 until '06, when I got rid of my second 650GS. I did a lot of riding with Dazzer and Carcher until Trevor had a fit and 'kicked' all the members that had migrated from 650s to 1150s and 1200s off the site.

Never looked back - this is a much friendlier site!
