VFR...

Postby Vince » Fri Feb 08, 2008 10:17 am

An old VFR750FT, 88,000 miles I've had it since new, used daily ATM untill salt free roads allow me to get the ST out (like today)
The VFR is like an old well worn pair of boots TBH, I can jump on and ride and it all falls into place, I must admit I need more miles on the ST to say the same, I seem a little "rusty" on the ST, weird feeling but It's getting there. 8)
Pic of it some 8 yr ago, not quite as tidy and tight now mind.

Hey, I think I know that bike from the VFR forums @bikersoracle.com. I came from a F-V. Still kicking my head for selling it.

I really like those - the last of the 'proper' VFR's if you ask me. I owned a VFR800 (200 model) for a while but hated the damn thing, in fact I ended up actually avoiding riding it I disliked it that much. :(

A friend of mine owns a 750FL which as about 90k on it and it still runs like a Swiss watch, and never been any trouble.

Agreed. And with the proper suspension mods, that thing railed. It could keep up with the best of them in the corners.

My VFR man has just bought another?? we think!!! it's the 5th one, he'd put 100 quid down hopeing there was going to be a new 1000,his present one(V-Tech) had 30,000 on it,so thought sod it i'll just have to settle for the same again,he came round on it the other day,it sounds different from his other V-Tech so god knows what Big H have been up to,i'd recommend one over an S every time, and yet wouldn't buy one myself in a million years, funny old game e'h.

It's not how fast you ride, it's how you ride fast.
Light travels faster than sound. That's why some people appear
bright until you hear them speak.

Never been a bike that appealed to me :?

The old ones (in single colour) always seemed a bit plain, and seemed to be crying out for a decent contrasting paint job.

The new ones have the most wonky styling I've seen on a bike this side of a Hyabusa's back end.

Wonky front indicators
Wonky exhaust cans
Wonky pillion grab handles
