I shall be leaving for France soon (to live) and the R1200S shall have to be sold I think. I've hardly used it over the last few years as i've had a play with some others and not enough time for them all. I do love it, and i've had some great trips to France and Switzerland on it but at 56yrs and a creaky body it feels like it's time to go. It still has my favourite engine of all the bikes that i've run alongside it over the last 8 (or is it 9) years but I just don't fit on it for any decent distance any more
So with creaky body and a fear of losing my license i've started buying unfaired bikes culminating in this. (Although I do still have a 150hp Fazer1000 ) I bought this at 12 months old and under warranty (fortunate as it had a flaw in the tank lacquer and just got it replaced) and 'might' keep it forever. However, at 11st (70kg) the suspension is utter shit. The worst i've experienced since my fizzy in '81. Otherwise, a cracking bit of kit. Replacement suspension is on the horizon!

Very nice. My mate "Dangerous Dave" has one of these and it has no shortage of get up and go.
Good luck with the move to France. Whereabouts are you going to live?
Cheers,
Paul

You really need only two tools: WD-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the tape.

Thanks Paul. There’s a bit of long term risk involved but we need a kick up the arse now and then. I’m really looking forward to it.

Fiat Panda.
Fiat Scudo (with speedblock, pipe carrier, reversing sensors, reversing camera, tow bar, some new rust and Fake Plumber logo)
started out with nothing, still have most of it left.

Very jealous!! You're right about needing the kick up the ar$e. In the words of Pink Floyd "And then 1 day you find 10 years have got behind you no one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun". Good Luck

Blimey the first time I looked at the picture without glasses and the topic title I thought you’d purchased another Kawasaki, it was only when John mentioned Trumpet did I look properly
Good luck with your move and new adventure Steve

A cracking line that and one that has resonated with me for about three decades! Time surely gets behind us quickly.
