Fuel tank capacity?

I forgot to fill up on the way to work yesterday. Stopped on the way home and it took 17.9 litres. Guess I was pretty close to running out?!
Seen a few threads for removing the black float from the tank - if I take the bodywork off am I able to easily remove the filler neck assembly to get it out?

Why would you want to take out the float?
You would be better off drilling a hole in the filler neck so you can get an extra pint or so in but be warned if you then brim the tank then park up within 30 or so miles on a warm day you will lose the extra fuel through the breather pipe
Your probably better just topping the tank every 100. Miles use the trip meter and it's easy
If you remove the float you will lose the low fuel warning light

Not done it myself but understand this is where you drill the holes ??

That's wrong Dai.
The floater has nothing to do with low fuel light on the 11S.

Probably to stop you overfilling the tank. Looks like it might cut off the tank vent from the manual.
Dumb to take it out IMHO.

I wonder, does Motocod not mean the 'float' but the black (graphite filled fume absorber?) that is located near the neck of the tank. I removed mine and bent the remaining tube up then drilled the filler neck to give me another 10-15 miles. Fill to the brim if yor riding rite away otherwise, leave some space if you fill up before parking-up overnite, especially if on the side-stand.
