no doubt lots written already on this subject, but I thought I'd add my 2cents worth.
Ram mount, no problem. But the wiring ?
last bike(not BM), it was wired from the tail light circuit under the saddle, easy to get at.
Some suggested tearing the front fairing off and getting at the wiring for the instrument lights ... sounded too scary
I removed the left hand fairing panel, theres the fuse box.
Fuse 7 is the tail lamp circuit, live, and beside it is the left-front indicator, earth.
Fuse 7 protects the circuit, and so does the Garmin fuse.
Side panel back, on and away we go ...
... "recalculating" ...
hopefully to the south of France next week

Garmin wiring
Harry, that sounds interesting....I may even have a go at that! So far I have used the Quest without power, which works well enough for the time I spend in the saddle. I have mounted my RAM ball on the steering damper. but I understand RAM now do one (or maybe not quite yet?) which replaces the brake reservoir cover. What about yours?
Steve
Hi Soggy any chance of posting a photo showing the riders eye view with the sat nav mounted? Hopefully got a Zumo arriving tomorrow and now need to suss out how best to mount it. I'd recently spotted the reservoir ram mount like yours but I'd also come across this guy:

Thought I might contact him to see what his 1100S offering is like.
Thanks Bob

the brake reservoir coveradapter looks great, but I got the ram mount tha clamps on to the ignition switch.
I use the Garmin Quest, and the only problem really is my eyes.
If its mounted close I cant read it
I'll try post some pictures when back from Bol d'Or.
