Hi folks, thought Mrs. Big Rob and I would share some memories of our very recent blast in Europe. We picked-up my wifes luverly new R1150R from those nice people at Vines on our way to the Port. What a cracking machine it is too :D

Sailed from Portsmouth to St.Malo. Enjoyed some great biking roads in Brittany.

Messed about in Brittany for a week, then we rode over these 2 amazing bridges on our way toward Le Harve.

We camped overnight (in our Lidl 10-euro tent :( ) not far from Dieppe, before riding through Belguim and into Holland. Had a night in Haarlem (much nicer than Amsterdam) before sailing from Ijmuiden to Newcastle.

Me thinks that our old employer must be paying you rather well in that eastern hell-hole you are in at the moment. Or did that house sale go very, very well?????

I take it she doesnt miss the Kwaka too much?

IIRC the Tour de France went over those two large bridges (not the one in Haarlem) a couple of years ago. Looks like they're worthy of King of the Mountain points.

Very stealthy-looking R, btw.

Hi Snavetrauts,
Mrs. Big Rob (Gail) is 5'7"-ish and has a 34" inside leg, she drinks like a bloke  and she's not cheap to keep!!! But, you and I are both very lucky in the fact that our partners share our passion for bikes. :D

Are you heading up to Pitlochry this weekend for the Boxertrix 'bash?'

Cheers, Big Rob.

We are so lucky here in the southern parts of Europe with the weather. 32 here today and did not even get the bike out! But there again did spend the day fitting the aircon unit in the bedroom.
I sometimes think about the life that I left behind in the UK, but then remember the things that I didn't like; road tax and MOTs on bikes, and rain.

Madman..... ditto.

The taxes over here are very cheap also. We do have to have an MOT though. It's called an ITV. After 4 years, then every 2 years, then the frequency increases as the vehicle gets older. AND only 48 Euros....no appt. needed, drive in drive out. Great

Actually 36 here today... thank god for "airflows"
