couple of weeks back, I wobbled up to Dijon to meet up with the UK bunch. I rode up with a good friend of mine who lives near Lecco (about 8kms from the Moto Guzzi factory) meeting him at Ivrea at the bottom of the Aosta valley.
Time was tight so we hit the Autostrada and the motorway up to Dijon; the plan was to have a ride out on the Friday... pretty uneventful trip up, the sun was shining and the roads pretty quiet, we stay in a small hotel in Quetigny, tram ride into town is about ten mins and the hotel is Ok..
Ride out to the Jura mountains on Friday, we managed best part of 400kms just messing around on some very nice roads..
My old Rockster... Poalo is phoning in the dead fly count!
Its funny, it said bikers welcome in the window, we were made to feel as welcome as a fart in a space suit!
road sign says it all
bike park randoms
lots of 9T's in the bike park
nice Guzzi MK1
nice little cafe racer, think it was a /5..?
they do like their outfits in France!
as mucky as it gets...
all clean!
was a great weekend, the weather managed to play ball, we had about ten mins of rain on Saturday, then it kind of warmed up... if you've never been to Moto-Legende, it's a really cool event, €25 for a 3 day ticket and as much vintage stuff as you can look at. Freddie Spencer and co were mashing out demo laps on the 500 two strokes, plenty of autojumble type mess to wander through.. the numbers of folks was pretty impressive, they reckon 50,000 over the weekend!
Trip back was dry, warm and sunny, right until I got 50kms from home, then the biggest thunderstorm I've ever ridden through! just enough to get the bike minging...
