Given my road tax for.my X3 was £675 I figured she had to go, and given I own a K1 I guess I'm drawn to quirky so have bought an i3 REX
Drove it home up the Welsh Marches yesterday and loved it

I rented one a couple of times in central London and I loved it.

Nice one Steve. I bought myself an electric MG4 and I love it. Once you get used to the instant surge of the electric motor, getting back into an ICE car seems a lot more sluggish than I remember.
It is gratuitously orange, too.

You really need only two tools: WD-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the tape.

Well... range... The Official WLTP range for mixed driving is 273 miles. In Winter, in the pouring rain, at motorway speeds, that's nearer 180 miles. Now it's getting warmer, and I'm doing less motorway miles I'd say it's a comfortable 220 mile range, without having to drive like an old lady. Given that I plug it in at home overnight, it invariably has a full-ish battery each day, and I rarely do more than 200 miles in a day, so I'd say it's adequate.
My experience of electric vehicle ownership is that it is great if you have a home charger that can deliver 7kW into the battery. If you are reliant on a 13amp 3 pin socket and the "Granny charger", you are only pushing about 2kW into the battery, it is less convenient. If you are entirely reliant on the 3rd party charging infrastructure, life would be an expensive struggle.

I would say that is "real world useable" for a lot of people.
My nephew has a Tesla with full-fat charger now, but for a while had a Renault Zoe that he drove 70m in a day up to Vodafone. Charged for free onsite - it cost him the cost of the lease only. That was cheap commuting !
