WTB: Hugger. WTS: Hugger

Postby victorlaszlo » Mon Sep 17, 2018 9:56 pm

Since I changed tyre my hugger has been rubbing on it which today at Snetterton became to bad for the tyre and I had to remove it.

Seems as if I bought a 5.5" hugger which was fine with my worn tyre but not with the profile of the new tyre.

So, I need to buy a hugger that fits the 6"/190 rim/tyre, and I have an Ilmberger carbon to sell which fits 5/5"/180.

Anyone knows if this would fit and would be suitable for 190 width?

The rear tyre on an pre LC GS is a 150, i think on the LC's it is 170. I have a hugger on my '06 bike similar to the ones in the links and there is no way they would clear a 190 tyre.

Cheers Al,

Anyone knows if this 1100-style hugger would fit, do the bikes have the same rear calipper?

There’s a Pyramid hugger on Shpock for £40 that may be of use. Can’t post link but just search on r1200s.

Here the wear on the tyre can be seen. It got worse over the day as rubber built up on the inside of the hugger:
