2003 Mamola Rep (twin spark).

Postby leasky » Tue Sep 15, 2015 3:49 pm

As some of you may know I came off my GSA in May last year and buggered my right ankle. After over a year of surgery, I have now been told that the foot has to be fused to the ankle. That will make riding a bike such as an R1100s almost impossible. Subsequently my Mamola will be up for sale as of next Monday. She is booked in for her 18K service and an MOT on Friday.

Some of you on here know the bike and have seen her at some of the Boxertrix meets several years ago. I have spent a small fortune on her over the years and pampered her; using my GSA most of the time and only taking out the Mamola on the rare dry day.

She is 12 years old and has done just under 18k miles. I am the second owner and have had her for 9 years. I have done 13k miles on her during that time. She has been serviced by an independant garage here in Aberdeen and has never wanted for anything. I have done less then 1k miles on her during the last 4 years. All paperwork, MOT's etc are present.

Everyone on here will know what they look like and what they came with as standard. However, over the years I have added:

Full Staintune System (proper 2 into 2 exhaust system)
Custom made and fully adjustable Ohlins suspension
Lennies induct system
PC 3
K+N Billet air filter
Racing upper and lower yokes
Adjustable rear torque arm
Corbin seat
R series Pannier system (touring and city lids + inner bags)
Carbon fibre indicator pods
White clocks
MRA screen
Tank cover and bag
Carbon fibre rear hugger
Fender extender
White brake light
Racing levers (clutch and brake)
Oil cooler mesh guard
External power socket
Mirror extenders

The sale will also include a BMW Zumo 550 + Garmin bracket (not fitted), Abbas stand, front paddock stand, BMW Canbus trickle charger and bike cover.

There is also an array of original stuff (Showa suspension, screens, seats etc) which I will include in the sale price.

I had the bike professionally tuned and Dynoed at Bob Grant Superbikes at Knockhill and I felt at the time that I couldn't really do too much more to her.

She is a lovely example and draws attention wherever she (occasionally) goes.

Images posted in thread below.

As regards price; I am not really interested in taking things off her and would rather sell everything described above in a "job lot" and I would be looking for £6500.

Thanks for taking the time to read this. I have probably forgotten some of the stuff which she has and I shall amend this advert if required.

Colin.

If I was going to go with an 1100S again, this would have to be it, other than my old one. It's incredible that mine with all the modifications went for £3k less than this and although yours is properly mint, (mine was not 'quite' so clean) the bulk of that is in the paintwork! Mad. Good luck with the sale though. If I had the space for two, I'd take it.
R1200GS TC. Triple Black
R1200S. It’s gone. Had it 11yrs. My favourite bike in 42yrs riding.

Obviously a decision made with the head and not the heart. Some tasty and very rare bits on the bike. Scot's yoke and lower fork clamp is bit like rocking horse whatsits. Probably the first and only 11S I have seen with the Staintune system. Highly regarded on the American forum.

I see the Zumo is going with it. The buggers on the other forum like to give you stick. Twice now in the for sale section :D .

The funds are available but I will get a lot of grief from the missus. I probably won't even ride the bike, it is a thing of beauty. Must be the photos that is in focus :D .

Thanks Josef.

She has been sitting in the garage all tucked up for over a year now and I have given thought to simply keeping her but I know that I wouldnt be able to ride her again after the final operation.

I have really enjoyed having her and I hope that someone else can enjoy her too.

Seems the advert stirred something in the states.

Boxer Cup

Postby HarrisBikeNut » Thu Sep 17, 2015 5:33 pm

That was me - saw the listing for the BCR and thought that was something like my recently acquired BCR needs to look like. Bought an after market filter and alloy holder for it, a pair of EMC shocks so the process has begun.
Would be interested in the rank cover and seat if you decide to kart out any of the trick bits on the bike.......please!!!!

Sorry, I will not be taking items off her.

If you want to "do up" a Mamola; you would be cheaper to sell your one and buy my one, as it will save you money in the long run. :D

Thanks for asking Josef. She has had the 18k service and the MOT done and is still available.

Not the best time of year to sell a bike so she will probably go back under wraps until next spring.
