Sena 10U bluetooth headset for Shoei GT-Air

I bought this headset in December for my GT Air, Being very impressed with the stealth design, (almost invisible once fitted to your helmet), unfortunately the speakers really hurt my ears, so much so that I cannot even bear to wear my lid for more than a minute. I only opened the box and fitted it yesterday, so it is absolutely as new and completely unused.
I like to have my helmet really tight fitting and this has left very little room for speakers. I'm sure if I had a medium sized lid it would be fine, but I went for a very tight small size which is probably a touch too tight to be honest.
