stelvio is just one of those on the 'to do' list before i get too old. Steve Yep, I've got one of those 'to do before ...' lists too. Trouble is, the ones slightly higher up my list include 'renovate bathroom', 'strip out kitchen', 'get a life'. I'll have to do that Stelvio thing sometime, if only ...

... with stelvio being the main target in june. "The main target"? I'm getting ready to take shelter here, but what exactly is the attraction of hurtling along a straight pot-holed bit of road for ten seconds and then wobble round an 85' bend in severe danger of being taken-out by some sp...

Re: Advice On Battle Field Tours

A couple of us from work are thinking of doing some European battlefield tours next year on the bikes. any advice gratefully received. Good post Joe, and big thanks to everyone for their top advice. I'm doing the same thing next year, en route to Chateau Flash in mid June. When are you going Joe? P...

Anyone know of a decent insurer?? Al :D Picked-up a tip on the UKGSER site. Guy says try Marks & Spencer Travel Insurance; reasonably priced. I wasn't too clear if riding a bike was covered though, so I asked. Here's what they wrote: "Thank you for your Marks and Spencer enquiry dated 02nd...

Sorry. I must be in the wrong place...

I hesitated to put a reply to this post as I well appreciate that this is not, actually, a GS forum. But, just for the record, here are a couple of posts from 'that other place'. Admittedly, I had to hunt around for these :( , found in the "how reliable is your GS?" thread. You will find loads of ot...

Ah! That'll be the side-pod flying off when changing the visor and the retaining lugs snapping, by any chance? Only difference, my gaffer tape was silver.

Blinkers

I guess it's that fine line between being so Anally blinkered about their 'brand' and they'll be the enthusiasts manning the stand (sounds like a Committee decision that one, where the proponents weren't on board the stand at the time), and, alternatively, so laid back that nothing ever gets done in...

Re: Comparisons

The 'fuel consumption' was a euphamism for all the boring stuff that I've overheard whenever I've been near a couple of BMWOC types. They organised a free GPS workshop a little while ago. Someone donated use of their large office for a Saturday and someone else arranged for a load of GPSRs for us t...

Just think you'll be able to on the GS site and then come back on here all holyier than thou!!!! thats what happens to most GS owners! Whilst Bob's formulating his reply, I'll just chuck-in my five pence worth, and thanks for letting me pop-in from time to time. Grateful for the tip about the crud ...

ah! I see you got here then!

Hi Joe,
I posted a link to here on the KAMG site, but now see that you made it along all by yourself.
Though Flash's geography is clearly in need of an Upgrade (where exactly in Kent is Cumberland?) I can highly recommend his gaff for a bit of a run out.
Good luck with the new steed mate,
