BMW Spares prices seem to have gone up this month....

Removed the starter motor from my 2001 R1150 GS. Bolt heads were a little iffy, so rang my local dealer to order some new ones. Was quoted £1.25 per bolt. Seemed reasonable, so I placed an order. A couple of hours later I get a call back, they are out of stock, they can still get them ok, but there ...

Buy what you fancy. What is the point of being in this position if you get hung up on 'getting the most expensive option possible' instead of just getting what you really want?

(Personally I have managed to get an R1200RT up to £13.5, which would do me fine).

I have a set of Hideout leathers dating from the mid nineties. Absolutely the business. But Peter Hamlett (who was Hideout at the time) has now left the company, so I dont know who is making their stuff now, or whether it is the same quality now. I had heard that Crowtree had closed after the owners...

Interesting choice for voting. My s/h 13k 1100S came from a Main Dealer 6 months/6k ago wearing new BT020's. A nail in the rear on the way to get the rear shock replaced (collapsed) under warranty meant it was easiest to get the tyre replaced (it was down to 2mm anyway) by said dealer at the same ti...

And if you are coming out of Calais on the ferry, dont get caught up in the 'I am making progress' and 'if you can go that fast so can I' thingy. Last year I made 6 trips to France (Bike and Car) and on every one there were folks charging off to the south that I passed within an hour pulled by the s...

I haven't managed to fit it with the supplied kit. RAM do bits, but be careful, their recommended kit requires a special bolt that Touratech USA sell (in the USA), but neither Touratech UK nor RAM will sell it to me, and Touratech USA wont ship to the UK, because that infringes Touratech UKs rights....

Have you considered an RT? Was my least favourite 1150, but is my current favourite 1200, an opinion based purely on test rides I should hasten to add.

Wow. Joined this forum 'cause I had an R1100S, this is turning into a Scooby owning, Skoda admiring club. One wee thing, dont know what kind of pushchair you own, but our Bugaboo goes lengthways into my '97 Golf Estate and an Octavia (any). The only downer on the Forester is it doesnt quite fi...

I am a huge fan of Skodas, although the last one I actually owned was a 130 Rapid Coupe. I regularly got hire cars (about once a fornight, for a couple of days a time) last year. The only thing I would say is that if you are used to the Citreon the Audi has a very firm ride. It is the reason we didn...

So.......... If you only have one bike.......get the BCR (or cooking model R1100s) If you run to two........ get the R1200s and something with boxes (panniers) Al :D Err...may I disagree? I have a 'something with boxes' (a GS with Al Jesses bags and Givi box) and I chose an 1100S over a 1200S as my...
