throttle position sensor update

My previous post on why my bike might be running like crap had lead me to believe it may be the throttle position sensor. ( I had previously changed air filter, fuel filter, plugs, plug lead, coil, checked valve clearence, balabced throttle bodies, washed out out tank ). I swapped the throttle body ...

thanks for the replies. I have swopped the TPS with my other 1100s but to no avail. Alas I shall have to face my fears and book it in with the dealer to go on his magic computer. I think now it can only be the hall sensor or chaffed wiring. Everything else has been changed. I shall let you kow the r...

throttle position sensor

well, i changed the clutch at the weekend, no probs but the bike still runs like a dog ( see thread 'any ideas ). The bike will not go over 90 and often gets really bad dropping down to a top spead of 70 before going back to running bad and a top speed of 90. It lurches all the time. If you try and ...

i think the hall sensor cause the bike to cut out when its hot. The bike keeps going hot or cold. I have three days this week in which i had planned to change the clutch. I think i shall also strip down fuel tank ( again ) and clean all bits and bobs. future thoughts - the big brass screws on the th...

i've changed the coil and that made no differance. The air filter is standard but there is a non standard exhaust. The bike ran fine with this set up 1 week ago.

The clutch slip has been happening for a while. I have planned to change it this week but with this new problem i'm not so sure.

well, i thought i'd solved it. I removed the air box drain plugs on both side and loads of water came out. perhaps half a pint in total. I was convinced this must have been the problem but having ridden to work this morning the bike is still the same. My question, with that much water mixed with a b...

thanks for the replies. I shall check out the air box. A new air filter was fitted less than 500 miles ago. I will also check the valsve clearances. All plugs/coil/plugleads have been swopped with my other s that works and this made no differance. I shall push on and see what happens. The only other...

any ideas?

the bike is hesitant, seems to 'hold back' when you want to give it some beans.

I have changed the fuel filter, spark plugs, plug leads and coil pack.

It ticks over fine and revs freely at standstill in neutral.

Any ideas what it might be??

my brake light was on permanently and traced it to the microswitch on the front brake lever not disengaging correctly. As said above if yours works for a few days and then goes off it is probably not microswitch but woth a look. On mine the contact point was somewhat bent out of shape.

feck um, insurance translates as theft. they stiff you on the way in and feck you on the way. The girlfriend was recently rear ended ( ooh er ) not her fault, never went down the ' my neck is broke" line. The result we get £400 for our car. To replace it is at least a £1000. I sent in adverts f...

I think, but don't use me as a line of defence in a court of law, that you are allowed a smaller than standar rectangular plate as long as the font is that of the standard issue and the plate is readable from a certain distance. This distance is 30 something, feet, meters, yards....er sorry. anyhoo,...
