M3's

Got a pair on my R1200S and I dont like them at all. They are grippy but too harsh and transmit every bump.

Silver thingy near right foot

I was wondering what that lever was because it certainly has nothing to do with the rear wheel!

Thanks chaps.
I didnt have one on my R1 and that was scary on bumpy A roads.

I've taken the big bars off now as its a bit cold sitting on top of a combine harvester at this time of year.

Steering Damper

Has anyone removed the steering damper from an R1200S?

It seem far too stiff (tee hee) in the cold weather and makes the bike unstable when riding slowly.

Just buy a house with a double garage, problem solved. If the wife complains ask her how many pairs of shoes she has? When she says you can only ride one at a time, tell her she only has one pair of feet! LOL I cant bear to part with any of my bikes, the RD350 I have owned for 27 years and the VFR 2...

Just go really fast everywhere and the the tyres will heat up correctly. I'm a firm believer in riding like a lunatic but these stupid cylinders sticking out each side are scratching cars in heavy traffic.
Can they be removed?

I had Pilot Powers which lasted 3600 miles but not good in the wet. Now fitted a set of Metzeler M3's which are quiet and grip in the wet.
