Insurance Pay Out

I've just agreed to a settlement payout for my stolen 1100S. It was a Mamola Boxer Cup used by me in all weathers, so not a shiny as some on here. I was originally offered £2,600 but pushed for more explaining that the Boxer Cup models demand more money. I have now settled on £3,000 and I'm happy en...

I've gone and done it

Despite the warnings from this forum and my own head I've gone a bought a K1300GT After riding a K5 GSXR1000 for two hours in the rain yesterday to get there. I took the K1300GT out for a spin and decided I just had to have one. So easy to ride fast on B roads, comfortable on the motorway and surpri...

So it sounds like if you had to have one it would be the 8. I'm thinking of one of these two http://www2.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201509076682286?search-target=usedbikes&make=bmw&model=f800&sort=default&keywords=GT&page=3&radius=1500&postcode=tw110px&logcode...

The height is not a problem as I'm 6'6'' and over 17 stone. I'm a bit concerned with getting an F8 either GS or GT as I used to find the boxercup under powered when two up with luggage and overtaking. Steve, you have/had a boxercup too, how do you compare the power of that with the F8? The K1300GT i...

Thank's for all the replies. I quite like the new RS but can't quite stretch to one. I struggle with the thought of a GS1200 in london as I don't want to look like a Ewan wannabe. The 800GT probably makes most sense so I should probably try one to see, think it might be a bit underpowered and too sm...

New Bike

Still no sign of my R1100S so i'm looking at what to get next. After 10 years with the boxer cup I fancy a change from a boxer.

I mainly commute through London but want something I can use to travel long distances in comfort too. I'm currently thinking about getting a K1300GT.

Thoughts?

I already have a spreadsheet with all available examples from eBay and auto trader but that's only four examples with one at a ridiculous price. Excluding the expensive one, the other three show linea depreciation due to milage. Forecasting from this results in about 2.5k at 70k miles. More data poi...

No Sign of the bike coming back this time. Does anyone know where I stand in terms of valuation when it comes to non standard parts that were declared at the time of taking out the policy? Am I entitled to the value of a replacement bike with wilbers shocks and a staintune exhaust or not? What are y...

Re: oh no, not again

Looks like they must have enjoyed the last trip last time as my bike was stolen again on Friday night. Can I ask you again to keep an eye out for Wilbers shocks, Staintune Exhaust or a Corbin seat coming up for sale.   Maybe its time to review your security measures. Once bitt...

I just rode the bike back from the police pound, started first press of the button. The only damage seems to be the ignition switch.

All a bit annoying but at least it's back

BMBler, I think you a right It seems that you cannot get the bike out of the pound without either turning up in person or using an "approved" recovery company. Any approved company I've talked to wants £150 just to go pick it up, before actually taking it anywhere and not including the £20...

I've not been allowed to see it yet as it was awaiting inspection, they wont tell me if it can be ridden away.

It's in the Perival police pound so I need to go have a look. fingers crossed
