speedo

Mine did the same a few months ago. The speedo got more and more erratic until it stopped working completly. I traced the fault to the same brown wire which had snapped.

However, I now do have a spare sender unit and wire, should you need one.

A merry xmas to all you trixsters out there! All the best for 2008 and let's hope for a sunny and dry year (who am I kidding). Nice picture HJ, good to see someone keeping memories alive. BTW, I've been meaning to ask you about your signature. Didn't that song come from A Night at the Opera? John (m...

service

Leaskey, I missed this thread last May. Thats bloody horrendous! Glad they seem to to have got their just desserts. I put my bike my bike into Astle (Grimsby) 2 weeks ago for its 36k service (the only dealer service my bike is getting). I know they they have not got the best of reviews on this forum...

Longest trip

Longest bike trip would be Home to Felixstowe (220 miles), 4 hours on a ferry, off at Ostend and then rode to Stuttgart (400 miles) on a BMW K1000RS.

Beaten though by a car journey of Home to Dover (300 miles) across to Boulogne and drove to Nice (750 miles)..........18 hour journey, don't try it!

Loved every second of it.

That I gotta see.

Sorry Stoney, I know where you mean really.

A tad unfair I think Kev. At least BMW take the trouble to recall and fix bikes if they suspect they might have a problem rather than some other well known maufacturers who would rather just let you find out by yourself. Obviously its no fault of theirs when sub frames snap or suspension fails, its ...

Yes Andy...brake lever. Not really sure which bit that they're referring to. Would agree, does not sound urgent... Hi Dave, suspect it's only the oldest models but not sure. Nice to see another northerner join the party. See you on a run sometime. I usually get across to Huddersfield quite a lot eve...

OK, just rang local dealer who told me it's for a new, later type of fuel hose to be fitted and for the ball head on the brake level to be secured.

Recall

No not Arnie but BMW. Letter just dropped through the box from Jeff Lynn (liked his out of the blue album) BMW Customer Information Service Manager issuing a safety recall for my bike. Bearing in mind it is now 8.5 years old and no problems yet this seems unlikely. Any of you dealer chappies out the...

Hmmm.......shiney forks!! I remember those, I think? Does anyone know if that's a standard boxercup bellypan or an aftermarket job? It doesn't look the same as the one PB had advertised on fleabay. Hello, good evening and welcome by the way. Nice looking bike. Pity the black bits slow the bike down ...

Having spent many years adjusting the chain on a Rickman framed bike which uses eccentric shims either end of the swinging arm........do I mean eccentric or concentric?....oh well, the holes aren't in the middle! a la Ducati except they had the foresight to use a screw device to move the swing arm, ...
