Thanks lads, traced to a dicky top plug cap/coil.
Tried the pulling the bottom leads off method to isolate which side.

Slight hesitation/misfire at 5000 rpm
Any ideas? Going through the revs it seems to just hesitate as it passes through 5000 rpm, clears its throat and then it's fine. This has been apparent since I took it on a trackday - I had thought it was just a plug dead/on its way out (it's a twinspark) but my recent full service hasn't cured it. ...

Success, that was way easier than I thought it would be, she's now purring like a kitten again :) We only had 1 moment of stress during the service. Refitting the timing hole grommet. After spending 15 mins fishing it out of the engine fins after I dropped it  it was poke poke, get in you bast...

Separate idle screws?
Hi guys, I'm a pretty competent mechanic and generally service my own bikes, but I'm taking on the boxer for the first time this weekend, only ever having serviced Jap stuff before. Been reading up on the method for synching the carbs, and I think I get all the throttle cable malarky... but am a lit...

Chris, To get the old bolts out get your blow torch and hold it directly over the old torx bolt head for about 20 seconds and the undo the bolt which is held in with loctite. When fitting the new bolts clean the old thread out first with a tap, failing to do this will almost gurantee that when you ...

Stainless front disc bolts
Fed up with mine being a rusty mess and going to get some stainless ones.
As far as I can gather from the interweb they are just standard M8x25 Button heads - the wavy washers and spacers can be used again?
Is this correct? Ta!

Dear Mr Gromit. I bought an ABBA stand recently. Looks to me like your back wheel is only an inch or two off the deck. Mine is a full 8 inches and it's a massive heave to get it up and over, as it were. What am I doing wrong?! Chris - that's coz the BCR's got mega-long suspenders (long front...

That's why I take them loose wheels one at a time. TBH it's rare these days to find a tyre fitter knowledgeable enough to actually notice that. Though that does sound like a slightly jobsworth attitude. I took them a rear that had an 010 on it and asked for a Metzeler roadtec. They asked me w...

Paddock stand recommendations
Morning chaps -
My S is actually an SS and hence has no centrestand - can anyone recommend a centre-lifting paddock stand that will pick up on the centrestand mounting points so I could get either wheel out?
Is that how the NWS one works?
